Yeremi Vargas (7) disappeared from a plot of ground outside the family home in the Spansh town of Vecindario, Las Palmas, Canary Islands, on 10th March 2007.  This date is somewhat significant as a mere three months later little Madeleine McCann (3) was also to disappear, this time from the sleepy resort of Praia da Luz on the Portuguese Algarve.

Your first reaction might be to think that this was just coincidence, that the two incidents were unrelated and unconnected.  But what if I were to tell you that two Scottish pedophiles were seen in both towns at the time of the disappearances. These two individuals were quite happy to talk to investigators about the McCann case but refused point blank to discuss Yeremi's disappearance.

Who was/is Yéremi Vargas?

Yéremi, sometimes spelled Jeremi, was a seven year old child who disappeared March 10, 2007, from a plot of land beside his house, where he was playing. His mum saw him play with his yellow bucket as she came home from the store with Yeremi's grandmother. She told him to come inside soon for lunch. He was never seen again. They lived in the Spanish island of Las Palmas. 

When she realized what happened, she and the rest of the family started ringing the neighbors' doorbells until a crowd of nearly 100 people was out looking for him. They found the yellow bucket in the gutter behind the Vargas house.

His mum doesn't believe he could have gotten lost or left willingly, as he is a shy and fearful child and instead thinks someone took him. The plot of land lies between two streets, the one Yéremi's house is in and another one. His grandmother believes that someone called him over from this second street, without them realizing. 

Theories/Leads

The police don't think Yéremi could have been taken out of the island, as they were made aware of his disappearance within the hour and subsequently closed airports and ports. 

According to the Mirror Spanish and Portuguese police are looking into a possible connection to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, who went missing from Portugal just eight weeks later. 
This is what Yeremi's mum has to say about both disappearances: 

"Jeremy may still be here in the town. It only takes a cellar to keep a child hidden and this town has hundreds of cellars. Perhaps they are sold to families without children or to pedophiles. Either way, I believe my son and Maddy are still alive.

"These are not typical attacks on children they are different - and yet similar to each other."

There's also another lead about two convicted British pedophiles that traveled to Yeremi's neighborhood and resided there for some time during 2007. Apparently, British press calls them the dirty rats because they posed as exterminators to get into their prey's houses. Here's the link where I found it if you'd like to look more into it. Spanish police don't seem to think there's much to go on there and don't expect to pursue this lead for long. (source). They also say they have another 3 "hot leads" they can't comment on. 

Apparently, one of them was also believed to be in Portugal when Maddy went missing. They were investigated but never charged with anything. This is a very tenuous link.

The Financing of MissingandU

The financing will probably be arranged by the philanthropist(s) who will be chosen after they contact us via the GET INVOLVED button.

Our philanthropist(s) could consider this- MissingandU can have a business plan and then go to corporations, and governments, have various fundraisers, donors like U, the top 10 billionaires (see thetop10andu.com), other wealthy people, people like U, Foundations, and other potential sources. Sources like broadcasting companies, Police Forces, family and friends of missing people, and First Nations people. We will start a charity. Anyone or anything that supports us would be highly regarded.

Inspiration for MissingandU- Mark A. Matheson

I saw a street sign that said Yeremi Street and I thought, 'what a strange name to have in this area'.  I found there are numerous Google articles about Yeremi. The article above tells of how a young missing child called Yeremi was last seen by his mother playing with a yellow bucket. I felt how bad Yeremi's mother would feel finding the bucket without her son. The stories about Yeremi inspired me to help resolve the plight of missing people around the world.

I was also inspired by the 2016 movie called the:  “The Lion” starring Dev Patel about a five year old  child named Saroo in India that gets separated from his brother and ends up on a train that takes him to Calcutta. In Calcutta he is taken to an orphanage where he is eventually adopted be a family in Australia. Eventually Saroo returns to India to find his lost home and family.

At the end of “The Lion” we are informed in writing that 80,000 children go missing in India every year. I can only hope that MissingandU helps resolve the some of the anguish that occurs when people go missing and hope that many people are reunited with their friends and families because of us.

Each missing person report will be tracked by a missing person number, MPN for short. The numbers would be coded so U know what area the missing person is from. That number is immediately assigned to a missing person.  Ourearth should be divided by using the telephone numbering system. A MPN would have a country code then next there would be 10 numbers. The first three numbers correspond to the area code. If there was a person missing in Nova Scotia, Canada which has a 902 area code. The first three numbers on the missing persons number (MPN) would be 902. Perhaps the next three numbers correspond to the municipal phone area the person is from. I use to live in Truro N.S. 902 897….. Since 897 is from Truro U would know the missing person is from Truro because his or her serial number is 902897. The next four numbers could be from 0001 to 9999. So in that town or 897 area U could have 9999 missing people tracked in that area. So police forces and the people would know exactly what area the missing person is from by the MPN. Perhaps after U press the first three numbers after the country code then all the people missing in that area code would appear. That would give those interested to see more faces of missing people. Who knows someone might recognize the other missing person or persons and be able to help.

These reports would be accessible on the internet on our MissingandU website and the police will direct the interested people to MissingandU so the public will see information that might enable them to help find the missing person. On television and radio people would be instructed where to find the missing person information on MissingandU.

Missing persons could be searched according to location, race, name, gender. The most recent missing people first would show up on the list. The most important would be their last known location. (Ex. country, state or province, town) before they went missing. Their last location known should be as refined as possible ex. a building, street. The date and time should be given so that potential witnesses might remember being in that area.

Missing Persons Reports should be available to be viewed as soon as possible; at the most within 8 hours from the time the police became involved. Pictures of the missing person or persons could immediately be loaded onto our site. Radio stations and possibly television could be airing information about the missing person especially if it was a known abduction.

On the profiles U would have their picture close to the date they went missing, with their age at the time. If funds and/or manpower are available a portrait could be computer generated or drawn of what he or she would look like in recent time, that way those missing would be more recognizable currently and in the future. Distinguishing features such as birth marks, dental records, physical abnormalities ex. cleft pallet, scars and club foot would also be noted.

Information about these missing people could be given anonymous if necessary.

On a future MissingandU website under the name and MPN U will find the police report and other information. U could find video or pictures of police, video of family and friends as well as family pictures could be included so people could see who they are helping. Appealing to potential helper's emotions will make them more likely to step up and help. Some people would be drawn to the MissingandU site just to read the stories about how it has impacted the friends of the missing people.

With all the possible advertising about MissingandU even the kidnapper will know where to go to find out about the person they abducted.

We will broadcast feature stories to attract people to our website so they might learn how they can help missing people. These feature stories could find their way on Television and radio.

Missingandu's effect on abductor(s)

If the people who have taken part in the abduction of a person knew that the person they abducted would show up in the MissingandU website, they would likely check out the site. Pictures, stories and even videos concerning the missing person might appeal to their emotions causing them to set the person free. Police could make the abductors aware that they might as well let the person go free because leads are pointing in their direction.

Abductors could see their pictures on the site or find out that they have been identified so they might release their victim. Perhaps a good description was given and they know it is just a matter of time before they are caught. There could even be a deal that the abductors offering a lighter sentence with the release of the victim within a certain time. The longer the abductor waits to release the child the more the abductors sentence reaches a maximum. These things would require some changes to our legal system.

MissingandU will be advertised so much that an abductor should be expected to know about the site and check it out. Abductions would probably decrease if people knew that police were doing such a thorough job and MissingandU was informing the world about missing people. The sentence of an abductor, if found guilty could be determined by what they were offered on MissingandU. The legal system would have to agree to use MissingandU to advertise a possible sentence they might be offering.

Rewards

Rewards could be given out by law enforcement and they could come from whoever is willing to give. Many of the missing person's profiles could have links where groups or individuals can offer reward money to solve their individual cases. More money would be donated if potential donators knew more about the people who have been impacted so negatively by the abduction. Statements, video and pictures of friends and family would make people want to donate more money.

Education

1. Universal abduction sign, thumb on same hand touching baby finger, this and rapidly blinking ur eyes. U do these if U can't speak when U are with ur abductors.

2. If U have a cell phone and U are abducted or U're going to be abducted text msss, msss the universal sign for abduction and press send. If yU have sent msss then the person receiving the message knows it's not a misspelling. If U know where U are at and can text without being seen then text ur location if known. The main thing is once U send msss (missings secret sign) hide ur phone somewhere on ur body so it can be tracked secretly.

An alternative to msss text could if U texted a certain coded word to the receiver of ur text that they are aware that U are in trouble. Then the person who might be doing U trouble who could possibly get ur phone wouldn't know U have sent for help. The coded word could be part of a sentence so ur abductors wouldn't pick up on it. Of course U would have had to decide in advance what the code word U will be using when U do turn to a person for help. 

If U can call, call 911 and say missing, that maybe the only thing U might be able to say before U have to hide ur phone. If U have more time say; “missing” and immediately give ur location. If U think U're going to be in the same place for awhile perhaps hide ur phone so it can be tracked.

3. Have a code word that U use with whoever U know and trust for instance ur guardian or guardians.

If U are not sure if U can trust someone that offers to drive or take U somewhere with U instead of ur guardian ask them the code word before U go with them. If they can't give it to U, U know that U were not suppose to go with them.

4. If ur home alone don't open ur door when ur home unsupervised unless U know U can really trust them. Talk to whomever through the door and tell them to come back later.
